The Certificate in Foundation Studies is designed to provide appropriate preparation coursework for students who wish to gain admission into the Management Foundation Studies (MFS) and Information Technology Foundation Studies (ITFS), awarded by the Â鶹ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø.

Structure

• Lecturers are both academic and industry-based professionals with extensive work experience and expertise in their domain knowledge.
• Average teacher-student ratio is 1:25.
  
• The course is 100% face-to-face lecture-based learning. Coursework includes attendance at lectures, discussions of case studies, tests, presentations, and completion of group and individual written assignments.

Assessment & Attendance

• All three (3) modules are assessed through multiple continuous assessments. They may include case studies, quiz, class tests, discussion, presentation, group, and individual assignments.
• Students must pass all the modules in the course to qualify for progression to the Foundation programmes.
• Attendance requirement – 75% attendance to be graded according to own academic performance.

Requirements to Graduate

To graduate, students must successfully complete and pass all 3 modules.

Graduating students will receive a result transcript and the Certificate of Completion from Â鶹ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø.

They will be deemed as meeting the academic requirement for entry into the Foundation Studies programmes as follows:

• Â鶹ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø Management Foundation Studies 
• Â鶹ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø Information Technology Foundation Studies

Accepted Entry Qualifications

The following qualifications are accepted:

• Two GCE ‘O’ Credits pass (Grade 1 to 6) 
• NITEC with minimum Overall GPA 2.0 
• Completion of Â鶹ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø's Certificate in Pressional Business Management Programme
• Other qualifications will be assessed based on the equivalence to GCE ‘O’ level examinations.

English Language Requirements

• GCE ‘O’ level credit pass (Grade 1 to 6) in English (as a first language); or
• 2 points at GCE ‘N’ Level English or
• Pass Â鶹ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø English Test at Advanced 1 Level; or
• An equivalent English language qualification.

Applicants who do not meet the English language requirement would need to undergo the Certificate in English Language (CEL) programme before enrolment in the programme.

Certificate in English Language Programme (If applicable)

Selection into the Certificate in English Language (CEL) programme is solely based upon recommendation by the Admissions Committee for those who have applied for the Certificate in Foundation Studies, Foundation Studies and/or Diploma programmes, but failed to meet the English language requirements.

It is focuses on four essential skills in language learning – Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing.

It features three levels:

• Pre-Intermediate (Level 3)
• Intermediate (Level 4)
• Upper-Intermediate (Level 5)

International Student Induction Fee A one-time fee payable by new full-time international students. This fee covers pre-arrival and arrival support, including activities to enhance the international student learning experience. As applicable, payable with the programme fees’ first instalment. Application Fee Payable for each application form that is submitted. Fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. The fee will be refunded fully only if the intake does not commence.
